How to report a fault, step by step

MotorEasy has a nationwide network of trusted garages across Ireland. If something goes wrong, they’ll help get you connected with a local workshop as quickly and conveniently as possible.

1

Stop driving

If you notice a fault or warning light, stop as soon as it is safe. Continuing to drive could cause further damage, which may not be covered.

2

Contact MotorEasy

Report your fault here or call MotorEasy directly before authorising any repairs. Repairs without prior approval are not covered.

3

Get authorisation

MotorEasy will assess the fault and, if covered, authorise the repair including parts, labour and diagnostic costs.

4

Collect your car

MotorEasy will pay the garage directly, leaving you to simply collect your repaired vehicle with no additional costs for covered work.

Important: always contact MotorEasy before authorising any repairs. Repairs carried out without prior authorisation may not be covered under your AA Warranty plan.

What AA Warranty covers

Engine & transmission

Internal mechanical failures including pistons, camshafts and gearbox components.

Electrical systems

Alternators, starters, sensors and electrical faults across the vehicle.

Cooling system

Radiators, water pumps and thermostats are all included under your policy.

Steering

Power steering racks, pumps and columns covered under most policy tiers.

Brakes

Master cylinders, callipers and servo units – no wear items like pads or discs.

Air conditioning

Compressors, condensers and evaporators covered where applicable.

What AA Warranty does not cover

Brake pads

Pads and discs wear down with use and are classed as routine consumables.

Batteries

12v batteries lose capacity over time and aren’t covered as a wear and tear item.

Tyres

Tread wear, punctures and sidewall damage fall outside of warranty cover.

Wiper blades

Rubber blades perish from sun and use; replacement is owner maintenance.

Filters

Oil, air, fuel and cabin filters are scheduled service items, not failures.

Clutch plates

Friction plates wear with driving style and aren’t classed as a mechanical fault.
